The Camp Nou claims the international recognition of the Catalan national teams
A banner has been unfurled in the Barça stadium calling for the official selection of the sports teams, taking advantage of the participation of the Catalan futsal team in the World Cup in Argentina
The participation of the Catalan team in the World Cup of Argentina futsal has been the perfect excuse for several sovereign entities -the Platform ProSelecciones Esportives de Catalunya at the head- have asked, minutes before the dispute of the important match of League between Barça and Atlético de Madrid this Saturday, the international recognition of the sports teams of Catalonia .

With a banner spread on the side of the Camp Nou, as is usual in this type of claim, the platforms have demanded the official status of all national teams, imitating the model of some international federations that accept Catalonia as a full member law, such as korfball, mountain racing, bowling, darts, bike trial, bodybuilding, tambourine or indoor soccer , among many others.

The canvas on display has claimed this recognition with the motto “Always Forward. Towards International Recognition ” , a requirement very different from the usual ones fully linked to the political situation and the imprisonment of pro-independence politicians.

In recent months, the Camp Nou has expressed its anger at the provisional imprisonment of political leaders and sovereignist activists, demanding their release and the suspension of the trial they are undergoing in the Supreme Court.

The club , which facilitates this kind of message exhició turning a blind eye, has also repeatedly expressed its disappointment with the political situation .

In the voice of its president, Josep Maria Bartomeu , the club has called for a political solution - and not a judicial one - based on dialogue and the right to decide in Catalonia, since the months leading up to the referendum on self-determination . After the two consecutive matches played at the Santiago Bernabéu, Gerard Piqué also spoke in this regard .
